Gender Anarky has uncompromisingly attacked transphobic violence within the prison system, and have consistently called for directly attacking the systems of domination that the make living conditions of trans women, both inside and outside prison, a living hell. Attack the institutions that maintain the miserable system of gender in solidarity with Gender Anarky and the continuing hunger strike.

Just called the prison and since the PR Officer is out this week, I got shuffled around to a couple unsuspecting people trying to answer questions about it. I spoke with a Sergeant Strickland (sp?) who explained that "These guys are men not women. This is a man's prison so they're men. They have to take this before a committee because they're single-celled for a reason. ..." blah blah blah. He has a habit of saying "Right?" after some of his assertions, so whenever I would not-agree about his assumptions about the womens' gender, he would get all flustered and talk more. It ended in a downward spiral of him explaining that I really should be talking to the PR Officer and he shouldn't have said anything and what he told me was confidential and he doesn't even know who I am. And then he hung up.
