OHIO VIOLENT SLAVE REVOLT
Protesting Second Class Citizenship

Over 2 million Ohioans (17% of Ohio) have been convicted of either felony or misdemeanor offenses
against the peace and dignity of the State of Ohio. Slave masters of the Ohio General Assembly
continue to punish those with criminal convictions by sponsoring multiple forms of punishment which
pose as barriers to re-entry efforts and often result in recidivism. Those who do not find themselves
at the revolving penitentiary doors succumb to poverty and second class citizenship due to restrictions
in areas such as employment, civic and political participation, housing, parental rights, social service
assistance, driving privileges, etc., which are no different than Jim Crow laws.



Ohio Slave Masters have passed House Bill 524 and is awaiting Governor Kasich’s signature to
become law. House Bill 524 seeks to enact Ohio Revised Code §4776.10 which under paragraph (A)
(3) therein, defines "moral turpitude" or "crime of moral turpitude" to include a conviction or plea of
guilty to an offense of violence as defined under Ohio Revised Code Section 2901.01. Ohio already
has several definitions of the vague term "moral turpitude" or "good moral character". By proposing
to enact Section 4776.10, individuals would continue to suffer the multiple punishments sponsored
by the State of Ohio in any number of areas which creates second class citizenship (or slave status) to
those convicted of violent offenses.

Chryztof Knecht is a former prisoner who served 12 years in the Ohio prison complex and has only
2 traffic related offenses since his release in 1999 yet hasn’t been employed for over 4 years due
to state-sponsored punishments. He is protesting his slavery status with the hopes of obtaining
employment so that he can raise his 6 year old daughter to become a productive member of society
instead of a victim of state-sponsored punishments. House Bill 524 contains a provision to employ an
ex-offender with the Office of Re-Entry. I am an unemployed ex-offender. 1+1=2.
