We're super excited and proud to unveil a new website we helped create about the Lucasville Uprising.
It's at LucasvilleAmnesty.org.
The Lucasville Uprising was a rebellion against oppressive and racist policies at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (SOCF) in Lucasville, OH. Nine inmates and one guard died during the uprising in April of 1993. Today, many people are serving time or condemned to death by the state of Ohio in relation to the uprising. We demand amnesty and freedom for all of these inmates. The conditions at SOCF were (and still are) intolerable and unconscionable.
We are using this site to raise awareness of all the people currently serving time for charges relating to the Lucasville Uprising. We hope to expand the site to include more prisoners' stories and contact information, legal updates, and support opportunities. We're seeking input and suggestions from any of the many outside supporters of the Lucasville prisoners.
